Hat Man Update (August 2025): Shadow People, Sleep Paralysis, and Spiritual Insight

Almost 10 years ago I had my first encounter with what we call the hat man. He stood at my doorway, watching me after I involuntarily astrally protected, and then he walked out of my bedroom.Since this, I have encountered it multiple times, but God has revealed some things to me about this demon that I need to share:

  1. One day, I prayed and asked God who it was, who is hat man? I then took a nap and had sleep paralysis, and I heard jazz music playing in a church sort of beat, then behind my eyelids the hat man appeared, and then it began dancing. It danced like a mix of Michael Jackson and James Brown, as well as people do in churches. Because of this, I have my own theory that Michael Jackson himself encountered this demon and that’s where he got a lot of his dance moves from. Choreographers who worked with Michael Jackson state that he would show up to rehearsals with a dance move that they have never seen and Michael Jackson also dressed like the hat man a lot.

  2. Like many people, I started to believe that maybe the hat man was some sort of an angel because I felt a sense of safety when I encountered it. I stopped believing this for a moment, because the Holy Spirit was telling me that it would not appear to anyone like that, like a shadow man wearing a top hat. But, then I began believing again that this was some sort of spirit that was helping me. After deciding that I had a dream where I was talking to somebody about many things, but then I started talking about the hat and then the being that I was talking to asked me what I think of the hat man and I said I think it’s the Holy Spirit or an angel and it said “and you think it’s God?“ And that’s when I realized I was talking to the hat man and then I was standing above me looking down at me and I woke up and then I realized it was trying to trick me into thinking that it was God. Looking at it from the angle that I saw it, looking down at me, I noticed that the brim of the top hat doesn’t look quite like a brim. There were curves at the end of the hat, which leads me to my next point.

  3. I do not believe that that is a man in a hat. I truly believe that that is a spirit that does not look human, a demon with horns.
