The Courage to Be Real: Authentic Faith, Unpopular Opinions, and Spiritual Truth

Have you ever felt like you had to hide what you really believe just to keep the peace?

With social media, algorithms, and everybody living in their own world, it can be hard to speak your mind without worrying about how people are going to react. Whether you’re exploring spiritual warfare, hidden biblical history, supernatural experiences, or just trying to understand your faith, sometimes it feels like you have to agree with everybody else just to fit in.

But you shouldn’t have to hide what you believe to make other people comfortable.

Being authentic also means being humble enough to admit when you’re wrong. There’s nothing wrong with questioning things, exploring difficult topics, or having beliefs that other people disagree with. But we also have to be willing to challenge our own thinking. Just because something sounds interesting, supernatural, or even biblical doesn’t automatically mean we’ve got the whole picture.

Throughout history, people have debated theology, questioned interpretations, and tried to understand things that aren’t always easy to explain. We should be able to do the same without being afraid to ask questions or change our minds.

Sometimes, real growth starts with being able to say, “I believed this, but now I’m not so sure.”

One of the things I want to encourage through this community is the freedom to ask questions, explore ideas, and have honest conversations about faith, spirituality, and the things we don’t always feel comfortable talking about.

For this month’s meeting, I want to hear YOUR opinions. Not just what you think people want to hear, but what you actually believe.

What’s a belief you have that other people might disagree with? Have you ever believed something about God, the Bible, or the supernatural and later realized you might have been wrong? Is there something you’ve always wanted to question but felt like you couldn’t talk about it openly?

Let’s have the conversations we’re not always able to have elsewhere. You don’t have to agree with everybody, and you don’t have to pretend to have all the answers. Just come ready to share, listen, and think.
